Dr. Sanford was born and raised in the lovely town of Sioux City, Iowa. He enlisted, at the age of eighteen, in the Iowa Army National Guard where he served for six years while attending Iowa State University. Early in his college career, he discovered a certain fondness for human anatomy and physiology, especially muscles and bones. About the same time a friend of his “opened my eyes to chiropractic which was relatively unknown to me at the time.” Thus, a legacy was born. In 1999, he graduated from Iowa State University with a bachelor’s degree in Zoology. The next year he started the chiropractic program at Western States Chiropractic College. He, too, finished the four year doctorate program in three years by working through his summer breaks. He then relocated to Reno and has been working as a chiropractor ever since. Dr. Sanford joined Leading Edge two years ago and is steadily building his practice.
On a more personal note, Dr. Sanford frequently makes time and finds time to take in nature either by dirt or by snow as mountain biking and skiing are two of his favorite pastimes.
